Cousin Felicity and the Eels of Misty Point
Cousin Felicity and the Eels of Misty Point is my first book and is complete at 28000 words. Eleven chapters uploaded on Authonomy.
A suspenseful, playful comedy thriller for MG, YA and FY (Forever Young) readers. My aim with Cousin Felicity was to write a story that could be read to children at night - a magical experience for me as a kid. I grew up with and lived the life of Huck Finn in rural New Zealand and this book is a respectful nod to those adventures.
Dead animals. Shadowy neighbours. Mysterious guests. This is no ordinary summer on the farm at Misty Point.
Daniel's ongoing war with his sister Sophie is interrupted by the arrival of his glamorous cousin, Felicity.
In turn, Felicity's dramatic entrance is quickly overshadowed and overtaken by sinister events unfolding on the farm.
Feathery friends lie dead. Daniel's family is under threat.
Who can he turn to in these dark Summer days? Stroppy Sophie? Pouty Felicity?
Shadowy suspects are everywhere in Misty Point's sleepy valleys -but is the perpetrator closer than they think?
